Video de Back in 1967 I had the pleasure of attending a Doc Watson concert It was a mixed blessing as I was so utterly blown away that I had, before I knew it, sold my treasured, good-as-new 1936 Ford and, with the proceeds, bought a `67 Martin D-35 I had wanted a D-28 but there were none in stock and I was desperate
It became readily obvious I was not cut out to be a guitar player so, except for occasional noodling around and use as an instrument for folks who dropped by, the thing pretty much gathered dust until about a year ago, when I finally sold it The term Brazillian Rosewood meant nothing to me until years after I`d bought it but it seems, after 1967, the rape of the Brazillian rain forest became unfashionable and Martin started using less desirable materials, not that I could tell the difference However, it turned out I realized a good deal more than the $440 I had paid in 1967
After awhile, though, I started missing having a guitar around, did a bit of research and ended up with this sweet little (not at all Dreadnaught) OM21 It`s a lot more manageable than the old one and my good friend Bill Schmidt, my go-to authority on all things musical, has given it his seal of approval You should hear what HE can do with it
It`s obvious I need practice Maybe in a few months I`ll have another go at it
