The British university lecturers' union (UCU) voted to support a boycott of Israeli universities to protest the treatment of Palestinians
The decision to single out and demonize Israel above and beyond all other countries and remaining silent over Russia's brutal occupation in Chechnya, or China's ongoing oppression of Tibet, or Iran or Sudan - is truly troubling
More disturbing is to do it at a time when students at an Israeli college were being bombarded by Palestinian Qassam rockets every day
The UCU call for a boycott reveals not only profound ignorance of the Middle East conflict but also deep illiteracy about the academic mission
UCU destroys bridges instead of building them
UCU - How dare you judge Israel when her partner for negotiations is an organization that dispatches suicide bombers and refuses to recognize the Jewish State's right to exist?
